Preheat oven to 180°C conventional/160°C fan forced. Lightly grease oven trays; line with baking paper. |

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. |

Sift in flour and cinnamon then add dates, nuts and bicarb soda dissolved in the warm milk. |

Drop teaspoonfuls onto trays, allowing room for spareding. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. |
